Public Holiday : Holidays have been officially declared by the Basic Education Officer, leading to a four-day school closure from November 3 to November 6. While the entire country, including Uttar Pradesh, will observe a public holiday on November 5 for Guru Nanak Jayanti, the Basic Education Officer of Bulandshahr has announced additional holidays, combining Ganga Snan Mela 2025 and Guru Nanak Jayanti, resulting in a total of four consecutive days of school holidays. An official notification regarding these holidays has been released.

Public Holiday : Four Consecutive Days of School Holidays

October was already filled with several holidays, and now November has also begun with a holiday stretch. According to the order issued by the District Basic Education Officer of Bulandshahr, all schools will remain closed from November 3 to November 6. During this period, all private and government schools up to Class 8 will remain closed.
The decision has been made so that students, teachers, and staff can also participate in the Ganga Snan Mela and enjoy the festive season.

Public Holiday on November 5

Guru Nanak Jayanti will be celebrated across the country on November 5, and on this occasion, a public holiday has been declared. All government and aided educational institutions, banks, and government offices in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed.

Guru Nanak Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, and is celebrated with great devotion and respect by people of the Sikh community. Therefore, a public holiday has been officially announced for this day.

Which Schools Will Remain Closed?

According to the official order issued by the Basic Education Officer of Bulandshahr, all municipal area council schools, aided and recognized primary and upper primary schools, as well as private schools operating classes from 1 to 8, will remain closed.

As per the notification, teaching activities will remain suspended for four consecutive days, from November 3 to November 6, and schools will reopen on November 7.

However, since holidays related to Ganga Snan Mela are often declared locally, schools in other districts are advised to check their respective local notifications for confirmation.

How Many School Holidays in November?

In addition to this four-day break, schools will also remain closed on November 25 for Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day.
Moreover, there will be five Sundays in November, which are weekly holidays.
Although November 14 will be celebrated as Children’s Day, schools will remain open on that day, as it is not an official holiday.
In total, schools in November will remain closed for 7 days — including five Sundays and two festival holidays.
