Every year, October 31 is celebrated as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti, also known as National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas). He is known as the Iron Man of India because of his remarkable role in uniting 562 princely states into one nation after independence. Therefore, banks in Gujarat will remain closed on this day, while banks in other states will operate as usual.
